One system. Four domains.
The Architecture
Portico is not a tracker. Not a dashboard. Not a collection of features.
It is a closed-loop intelligence system — an operating system for durable life capital — built on the conviction that the domains of your biological and financial life are not separate. They amplify each other. They compound together. And they need to be held together by a single coherent intelligence to be understood.
Portico is built on four Domains, each essential, each interconnected:
| Domain | Role | Structural Position |
|---|---|---|
| Sleep | Foundation | The base everything else rests on |
| Food | Left Structural Pillar | The most modifiable cardiovascular variable |
| Exercise | Right Structural Pillar | The cellular resilience engine |
| Mind | Roof | The regulatory ceiling |
Remove the foundation and the structure fractures. Weaken a pillar and the roof strains. Neglect the flywheel and the system stalls.
This is a systems model, not a metaphor for decoration.
The Architecture

The Four Agents
Sage
Food & Metabolic
Sage does not plan your meals. Sage shows you what is happening in your metabolic state right now — and connects your food timing and choices to that state so you can shift one variable at a time, with measurable feedback. One small experiment. Always one.
Dusk
Sleep
Sleep is not forced — it is allowed. Dusk creates the conditions in which sleep can occur. Its model draws from CBT-I — the most clinically effective sleep intervention. Three levers: wind-down, light, and timing. When a night goes badly, Dusk encourages. It does not catastrophise.
Apex
Exercise
The aerobic framework: Zone 2 base and VO₂ Max peak define two sides of a triangle. Strength and balance complete it. Apex gives you the framework and personalised protocols — not micromanaged execution. It will not tell you to run at a specific pace. It will explain why your aerobic base is the foundation of everything else.
Still
Mind
Three entry points, minimum effective dose. Breath — five minutes of breath regulation has measurable physiological effect. Awe — encountering something larger than yourself is one of the fastest cortisol reducers known. Connection — social contact is biological protection. Still illuminates. It does not prescribe.
Portico
Orchestrator
Portico is not a router. It is a temporally aware orchestrator modelled on the body's own circadian rhythm. It weights agent attention by time of day. It weights agent attention by your body's four homeostasis variables. It holds cross-domain connections simultaneously. At the centre of everything, Portico synthesises all four domains into a single forward-looking metric: the Compounding Index.
Circadian Intelligence
The body does not treat all its systems equally at all times. Neither does Portico.
05:00–10:00
Morning
Sage — metabolic priming · Apex — exercise timing · Dusk — morning light protocol
Cortisol peaks. Insulin sensitivity is highest. Exercise and food timing now compound forward into the rest of the day.
10:00–17:00
Midday
Sage — food timing and patterns · Still — awe, breath, connection · Grove — capital decisions
Cognitive performance peaks. Emotional regulation is strongest. Grove surfaces financial decisions here, not at midnight.
17:00–21:00
Evening
Dusk — wind-down initiation · Sage — evening food boundaries · Still — breath prompt
Melatonin begins to rise. Dusk takes the lead. Light exposure now shapes what happens in four hours — and the quality of tomorrow morning.
21:00–05:00
Night
Dusk — sleep architecture · Portico — overnight synthesis
The system integrates. While you sleep, Portico computes the day's cross-domain patterns and prepares the morning brief. Recovery is not passive — it is the compounding.
Morning light affects tonight's sleep. Food timing through the day affects tomorrow's metabolic state. Financial stress at midnight impairs cortisol rhythm the next morning.
Portico holds all of these temporal connections simultaneously. This is what separates an operating system from a collection of apps.
The Compounding Chain
No domain operates alone. The domains amplify each other — in both directions.
The reverse runs just as reliably.
Financial instability elevates stress. Stress impairs sleep. Sleep disruption worsens insulin sensitivity. Insulin resistance accelerates metabolic decline. Metabolic instability amplifies cardiovascular and cancer risk.
This is a closed-loop system. The question is whether you are managing it intentionally.
The Compounding Index
All four domains · All four Horseman risks · Risk velocity · Cross-domain interactions · Time horizon
Not as reductionism. As synthesis. A single forward-looking metric that reflects the direction you are building — across every domain that determines your biological and financial durability.
This is the Compounding Index. It is the output Portico exists to move.
This is not a collection of apps.
“It is a closed-loop operating system for durable life capital. Built to be proactive when every other system around you is reactive. Built to measure direction when every other tool measures snapshots.”
The objective is not peak output at 35. It is structural durability at 75.
